PRINCIPAL MECHANICAL DESIGN ENGINEER
Energy Northwest (Richland WA)

Responsibilities
Provide independent engineering service and support to perform highly complex engineering tasks requiring specialized skills and broad experience in the application of engineering fundamentals in support of the design modification, operating, and independent assessment of Energy Northwest facilities. Serve as an advisor to others.

Required Education and Experience
Requires a Bachelor's degree in Engineering from an accredited college or university and eight years of engineering experience, plus one diverse assignment; OR a high school diploma or GED and PE license obtained by accredited examination plus eight years of engineering experience and one diverse assignment. Other Information This position prefers a Mechanical or Civil/Structural engineering degree for the Bachelor's degree educational requirement.  This position is in the Design Engineering Group at Columbia Generating Station.

Candidates for this position should have significant experience in performing pipe stress analyses, pipe support analyses, and structural analyses.  It is desirable for the candidate to be proficient with the Piping Analysis software "ADL Pipe" and the Structural Analysis software "PDStrudl".  This is because many of the original plant design calculations were performed using these software packages.  It is also desirable for the candidate to have experience with the ANSYS software package.

Salary range: $79,328 - 118,992

ELECTRICAL I&C SYSTEM SUPERVISOR   
Energy Northwest (Richland WA)

Responsibilities
Supervise staff activities: provide leadership, technical guidance, work management, and administration of a group comprised of Electrical and I&C engineers. This group is responsible for activities such as system performance monitoring and trending, maintaining system health reports, planned maintenance (PM) reviews, system-related action requests (AR) reviews, troubleshooting, outage support, and equipment reliability improvements. Additionally, provide input to the manager on budget, schedule, staffing, and system long-term planning, and work week involvement to support the operation of the Columbia Generating Station.

Required Education & Experience
Requires a Bachelor of Science degree in Engineering or related field from an accredited college or university or a Professional Engineer registration attained by written examination, plus eight years engineering and/or management experience, with at least one year at an operating nuclear power station. A maximum of four years of the remaining seven years may be fulfilled by satisfactory completion of academic training. A high school diploma or GED is required.

MECHANICAL ENGINEERING INTERN
Coffman Engineers, Inc (Spokane, WA)

Coffman Engineers' Spokane office seeks an Engineering Intern for the summer of 2010 to join our Mechanical Department. The successful candidate will spend the summer working in a fully integrated, multi discipline firm, coordinating the mechanical design with other talented civil, structural, and electrical engineers in our office. Current projects on the boards are from the following sectors: healthcare, military, laboratory, and energy audits.

Eligibility requirements:
  • Completion of 4th year or higher from accredited BS Architectural Engineering (mechanical emphasis); or completion of 3rd year or higher from accredited BS Mechanical Engineering program.
  • Exceptional written & verbal communication skills.
Preferred qualifications include:
  • ASHRAE Student member
  • Knowledge of energy modeling software such as eQuest
  • Knowledge of load calculation software such as Carrier
  • Participation in ASHRAE Student Design Competition
  • Knowledge of Revit or Bentley software
  • EIT
  • LEED AP
